Albert Dobbs

Albert Dobbs Sr., 78, of Beech Grove, Indiana, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Dobbs was born on April 20, 1940, in Baxter, Tennessee, the son of Platino and Maudie (Steele) Dobbs.  He married Sharon May on June 20, 1980, in Indianapolis.  She survives.

He is also survived by two sons- Albert Dobbs Jr. and Sam Dobbs; two step-daughters- Barbara Paulson and Annette Collins; ten grandchildren- Genevieve, Tia, Ashley, Johnny, Sonny, Davy, Lenny, Megan, Jasmine and Kayla; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and two sons- Tabby Collins ans Carl Dobbs.

Mr. Dobbs served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962.  He worked for several years as a machine repairman in various machine shops and later retired from Allison’s.  He enjoyed working in his yard, watching racing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at N.F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Services.  Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  According to his wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
