James Curtis Carmer Jr., 54, of Indianapolis, passed away at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Carmer was born on May 10, 1964, in Indianapolis, the son of James C. and Freda (Losey) Carmer. He married Phyllis Orndoff on February 23, 2005, in Nashville, Indiana. She survives.
He is survived by one daughter- Lauren Carmer of Indianapolis; parents- Jim and Freda Carmer of Indianapolis; one brother- Mark Carmer of Indianapolis; uncle- Michael (Jo) Losey; two aunts- Georgene Losey and Marsha (Ronald) Wood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother- Jerry Carmer.
Mr. Carmer served in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 1985. He worked for several years as a truck driver. James enjoyed riding motorcycles, restoring classic cars and building musical string instruments.
A Celebration of James Carmer Jr’s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Norman F. Chance Funeral Home, 504 E. National Avenue, Indianapolis, with Justin Hayden officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. According to his wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. The family has entrusted the Norman F.
