Ann Creasey Obituary

Ann G. Creasey passed away November 5, 2022, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Born in Lexington, Kentucky in November of 1938, she spent much of her youth in Lost Creek, KY in Hazard County (Haddix Family), with her grandmother MaCorey who was well known for her Quilts.

In 1956, she moved to Muncie, Indiana where she graduated from Muncie High School.  Shortly after graduating she moved to Indianapolis, where she worked as a key punch operator for the telephone company as well as a bookkeeper for the Division of Labor. Her favorite job was Quality Assurance for the Indianapolis Marion County Building Authority where she oversaw maintenance of the county courts as well as the Marion County Sheriff facilities.  While there she was instrumental in the Canal Restoration project that is a landmark in this city today.  A lifelong Democrat, Ann was active with the Young Democrats of Indiana in the 1960’s where she campaigned for Bobby Kennedy and was able to meet Ethel Kennedy.

In 1988 she married Mark Creasey with whom she had just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on October 22, 2022. They moved to Bargersville, Indiana after she retired from the City County Building Authority where she indulged her passion for debating politics with family, travel, gardening and hosting family events.  Her favorite was Christmas Eve, which always attended by all of children, grandchildren, in-laws, and friends

Ann would like to be remembered most as a mother to her 7 children, Grandmother to 17 and Great Grandmother to 21 with one on the way!  She was the matriarch of her large family and will be missed greatly, especially around the holidays which created so many memories for them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents Claude & Garnett Thompson and brothers Donald Andrews & Larry Thompson.  She is survived by her husband Mark Creasey, children Bob Bernard, Leslie (Dennis) Baker, Dana Bernard, Kim (Steve) Harden, Evet (Tom) Hexamer, Matt (Jennifer) Schoettle, & Mereith (Steven) Mast; grandchildren Ashlee(Brandon) Rush, Nolan (Portia) Bernard, David (Kimberly) Scott, Allan Garnett, Larry (Arianna) Scott, Austin Garnett, Hailey (Leary) Bernard, Arianna (Nick) Walpole, Aidan Kenny, Asha (Wesley) Garnett-Fain, Wesley Bernard, Jacob Hexamer, Zeke Schoettle, Zachary Hexamer, Bella Schoettle, Luke Mast & Monroe Mast.

Visitation will be held at Norman F.
