Debra Jane (Benedict) Fairchild

Debbie Fairchild passed away on December 27th, 2024, at the age of 66. Debbie was born December 26, 1958, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Dallas Benedict and Jane Benedict. Debbie was a 1977 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School. She was a faithful member of the Brookville Road Community Church in New Palestine. Debbie had been employed for Western Southern Life Insurance as auditor for 39 years, retiring in 2017.Known as an avid sewer she made items to donate to local charities and always had some type of project going. Debbie also volunteered for the Salvation Army. One of her greatest loves was traveling the US with family and friends. She was able to complete a bucket list item and visit Nova Scotia 2 years ago. Every October you would always find her on the beach in Destin, Florida.

Debbie was married to Chuck Fairchild on June 6th, 1992. Chuck preceded her in death in 2011.Debbie is survived by her mother, Jane Harmeyer Benedict. Brother and Sister-in-law, Dave & Melissa Benedict. Nephew Nick Benedict. Niece Andersyn (Zane) Smith. And great nephew and niece Ezra and Zara Smith.

Funeral Service for Debbie will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 3,2025 at Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Calling will be Tuesday (1-2-25) from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday (1-3-2025) from 11:00 until the hour of service. Interment will follow at West Newton Cemetery.  Contributions in her honor can be made to the American Cancer Society.
