Deloris Wilson-Sholar Obituary

With love and devotion, we announce the passing of Deloris Ann Wilson-Sholar, committing her to Jehovah’s memory having returned to Him on October 14, 2025, at the age of 75. Lois was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 1,1950 to Arthur Wilson and Mary Louise Wilson-Sholar who gave her a zest for life and a free spirit that was both her greatest strength and weakness. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1969 attending Indiana University School of Business to become a medical transcriber. She worked at Wishard and St. Vincent Hospital before eventually retiring from Long Hospital in 1991. Lois leaves behind her greatest treasure in this world, her daughter and friend, Ann Appleton. Ann was her rock having taken care of her with gentle patience as Lois struggled with debilitating psychological and physical issues for many years. Their time was a give and take that bonded them together through joy and tears. No happiness being greater or sorrow lessening the spirit of either woman as they made a way through the many trials they endured. The only other person holding a place in heart being her grandson, Joshua Appleton, who she had the opportunity to nurture from birth making their time together sweet and special as only a grandchild can. Lois also had five siblings… two who proceeded her in death, her brother, Noris Richard Johnson and sister, Doris Lee Johnson. Her three surviving siblings, Naomi Sonia Lovely, Bessie Jean Myers and Edward Arthur Wilson carry memories of her close to their hearts. Lois also had many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends who look back on the time they spent with her with happiness. Those with the resurrection hope look forward to, perhaps, seeing her in the new system where they will be reunited with Lois under Jehovah’s benevolent care. Fellowshipping will take place on: Friday, October 31, 2025, 11:00am with the eulogy starting at 11:30am at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4809 E Raymond St south building, Indianapolis IN 46203. The service will also be broadcast on Zoom; the meeting ID is 847-6718-1421, password 673992. We look forward to you joining us.

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Condolences and words of comfort maybe offered at www.chancefuneralhome.com
