Her family moved to Indiana in December of 1933 where she attended Acton High School. After moving back to Oklahoma for a short time, she graduated in Indiana from Manuel High school in June of 1937. On January 1, 1933, at the young age of 12 She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Brother Loyal Thompson.  Irena spent many years serving the Lord. She was a faithful midwife, sincere in visiting and caring for the sick, and always quick to pray. Her greatest joys were going to church, visiting with the brethren, and talking about The Faith. On October 15, 1938, Irena married the love of her life Robert Lee Lewis. Out of this union 5 children were born: Grace Adell, Elizabeth Ellen, Robert Lee Jr., Morte Lee, and Jimmy Douglas. They were blessed with 48 ½ years together, living through the trials of WWII and losing 2 babies. They also had many joys including camping and traveling with their grandchildren and the brethren. She loved to have her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren over to spend the night. They spent many hours with her baking, playing games and listening to stories of olden days.  They all enjoyed the annual dart gun fight on Christmas day at her house.
