Her family moved to Indiana in December of 1933 where she attended Acton High School. After moving back to Oklahoma for a short time, she graduated in Indiana from Manuel High school in June of 1937. On January 1, 1933, at the young age of 12 She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Brother Loyal Thompson.  Irena spent many years serving the Lord. She was a faithful midwife, sincere in visiting and caring for the sick, and always quick to pray. Her greatest joys were going to church, visiting with the brethren, and talking about The Faith.
