George Edward Shaffer

George Edward Shaffer, 53 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 1, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his parents- “Big Roger & Yvonne Shaffer and sister Yvette Talkington.  George is survived by his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Thurman, daughter Carley Jo Thuer and stepdaughter Paige Miller, siblings Robin (John) Botts, Ronnette Wilson (Jeff), Roger (Dawn) Shaffer & Debbie Shaffer (Rich) Jeffrey Cook & Wendy Cook Wamsley and many nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews. Two grandsons, Jaxon & Jasper. 

George had a huge heart and big sense of humor and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. George also enjoyed fishing, racing, playing cards, riding motorcycles putting together bicycles and just cutting up and having a good time.  George also enjoyed sports- his favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.

Though Georges time with us was cut short, the impact he made will last forever.  His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the memories that we hold dear.  We will miss you terribly George, but we are grateful for the time that we had and the memories and the lessons that you taught us. 

Memorial service at Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227 on Tuesday June 10, 2025, from 10:00a.m.  to 1:30p.m with funeral services starting at 1:30p.m.with Pastor Chris Blankenship offficiating.   Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery, Indianapolis.
