John Edward Byers

John E. Byers, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 24, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on December 23, 1948, in Indianapolis, to the late Walter O. "Bozo" and Kathleen Ada Austin Byers. John was married to Keleen K. Napier Byers, He was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. John was employed for 30 years at Raytheon Technologies Indianapolis, working in packing. He was a member of One Christian Church. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, watching NASCAR, the Colts and TV in general.

John is survived by his wife Keleen Byers; stepson Mike Robinson; grandchildren Amber and Nick Johnson; and sister Beverly Howell (Marvin). He is preceded in passing  by his parents; stepdaughter Dawn Johnson; brother William Byers; sister Sue Coker; and his furry companion Rambo.

Services for John will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Norman F. Chance Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Calling will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Cemetery is handling the arrangements.
