John Thomas Hinesley ,97, passed away November 5, 2021.  John was born February 15,1924, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late George Washington Hinesley and Margaret Henrietta (Harstedt) Hinesley.  John was a member of the West Newton Methodist Church and was a retired supervisor with Chrysler and Allison. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and chopping wood. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University Basketball. He also enjoyed bus trips with Ramona.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II as a Sergeant in Company E 415th Infantry. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and participated in campaigns in Northern France, Central Europe and Rhineland.

John is survived by his children; Kathy J. Aracuo, John T. Hinesley Jr., (JoAnn). Margaret E. Hinesley, Jane E. Talsma (Gary) as well as his seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by Bernice (Hall) Hinesley and Ramona (Everly) Hinesley, his parents George Washington Hinesley and Margaret Henrietta (Harstedt) Hinesley, and brothers George and William Laurence.

Services for John will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2022, at West Newton Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana with military honors. Online condolences maybe offered at www.chancefuneralhome.com
