Louis "Lou" Weir II Obituary

On December 28, 2021, the world lost an amazing human. Louis Alva Weir, II, “Lou” born on October 7, 1954, joined Jesus after a month long battle with Covid. Lou was a current resident of Shelbyville, Indiana, but spent a significant amount of his life in Franklin, Indiana, Texas and Michigan.

Lou loved his family more then anything. He loved the Weir traditional bi-annual 4th of July extravaganza with the best fireworks in town and the annual Weir Christmas exchange where he always brought the meat!  Any opportunity to gather with his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and all the extras that follow this crazy crew around brought him joy.  He always had a smile on his face and a huge warm hug for everyone.  He had a story for every occasion and a political view to go along with it.

His life was filled with various adventures!  He graduated high school from Franklin High School in 1971 and attended Graceland College. After college he held various jobs including owing his own IT shop, driving 18 wheeler's and most recently building patios with his son.

Lou, Papa, Uncle Louie was proceeded in death by his parents, Dean and Bonnie Weir of Rowlett, Texas.  He leaves behind his three children, Nicholas  Weir (Bridget) of Franklin, Indiana, Jenna Weir and Dakota Weir of Shelbyville, Indiana; two grandchildren Brac and Lyla; five siblings, Y’Vette Shykes (Chuck), Don Weir (Rachel), Nanette Chance (Bob), Gisele Bissey (Dennis), and Paul Weir (Ginger); he is also survived by many many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held January 22, 2022, from 2:00 p.m-4:00 p.m. at Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W 300 South, Franklin IN 46131. Online condolences may be offered at www.chancefuneralhome.com
