Beloved mother and grandmother Marjorie Ruth Coffin went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Friday, April 30, 2021 at Greenwood Village South, at the age of 95.
Marjorie was born in Heyworth, Illinois to Harrison and Susie Myers on September 4th, 1925. She initially came to Indianapolis to study opera at the Indianapolis branch of the St. Louis Conservatory and planted roots here after marrying her husband, John Coffin in 1957.
She loved gardening and spent her life dedicated to caring and cooking for others. For Marge, there was nothing a fresh batch of cookies couldn’t solve. When she wasn’t cooking, she spent time as a dedicated member of Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church, active in the United Methodist Women’s Group, and spoiled her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren with sweet desserts and tight, warm hugs.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Coffin; beloved son Johnnie Coffin; stepdaughters Helen Everts and Mary Ellen Akioka, and granddaughter Rhonda Haughom. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Loralie Coffin; stepdaughter Myrna Carmichael; and grandchildren, Kristen (Eric) Jenkins, Kyle (Vanessa) Coffin, Charles (Paula) Everts, Ray Bell, Cindy (Doug) Strain, and Christy (Joe) McGill, as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Marjorie will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church
(4450 S. Keystone Ave. Indianapolis, IN. 46227), with Pastor Amy Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
Any flowers should be sent directly to Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church, and donations can also be made directly to the Churches memorial fund.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
