Mary Roberta (Turner) Whiteside

Mary Roberta Whiteside, 71, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on December 22, 2020 at Franciscan Health Hospital. She was born February 18, 1949, in Indianapolis to James and Mary Turner. Roberta was married on August 25, 1967 to John R. Whiteside in Indianapolis. She was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, Southport Chapter 442. Roberta was employed as a directors secretary for Perry Township School District for 35 years until she retired.

Roberta is survived by her husband of 53 years John Whiteside; son John D. Whiteside (Shelley); daughter Joanna Holland (John); brother William Turner (Sandy); grandchildren John Holland, II (Savanah), Ashley Whiteside, Cody Whiteside, and Nicholas Holland and great grandchildren Hayley, Quintin, Christian and Xavier Holland. She is preceded in passing by her parents and granddaughter Brittany Holland.

Services for Roberta will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. Calling will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the mortuary. Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center is handling the arrangements.
