Sherley A. (Myers) Vehling

Sherley A. Vehling, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2018, at Aspen Trace Transitional Care.

Mrs. Vehling was born on January 18, 1929, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Raymond C. and Theresa (Fisher) Myers.  She married John C. Vehling on June 29, 1951, in Indianapolis.  He preceded her in death on October 9, 2004.

She is survived by two sons- John Kent (Beverly) Vehling of Greenwood and Paul Vehling of Indianapolis; three grandchildren- Courtney, Danae and Ashley; one great-granddaughter- Lily; and one sister- Mary Miller of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother- Raymond A. Myers.

Mrs. Vehling worked as a Head Insurance Underwriter for Indiana Farmers Insurance, for several years until her retirement.  She was a member of Christ Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Sherley enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles and collecting paper weights, coffee mugs and Christmas ornaments.

A Celebration of Sherley Vehling’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Norman F. Chance Funeral Home, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227, with Pastor Elmer Price officiating.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest following the services in Round Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Christ Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  The family has entrusted the Norman F.
