Victoria “Vicky” Sue House passed away on August 21, 2024, in Indianapolis surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Indianapolis, IN on April 8, 1959. She was a graduate of Perry Meridian High School, class of 1977. Vicky attended Southport United Methodist Church for many years. Her career life consisted of working at Gencorp, and then being a Stay at Home Mom for several years with her children, and then working many years with Perry Township Schools from which she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, her sisters and brother and friends. Those closest to her would always say her life truly revolved around her children and grandchildren. Vicky was always the brightest light in the room with her out of pocket humor, her loving smile, and compassionate heart to all. Vicky was the true definition of selflessness and would do anything for anyone she could, even if it meant she went without. She enjoyed sewing, baking, Macramé, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and always having them over for sleepovers and board games. She also enjoyed spending time at her late father’s cabin in Brown County making memories with her family. She is loved and missed by so many.
Vicky is survived by Jeffrey House (Husband), Tara and Thomas Sexton (daughter and son-in-law), Cody and Kari House (son and daughter-in-law) Brenda Brethauer (sister) Jennifer and Jay York (sister and brother-in-law) Marc Brethauer (brother) and Sue Schmalfeldt (sister). She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren - Landon, Leland Kinsley, Luna and Lily along with many nieces and nephews.
Vicky is preceeded in death by her mother Ellen Cox-Little, her father and stepmother Albert Henry & Sherry Brethauer, and her son Kyle Glen House.
Vicky’s Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday August 28th, 2024, from 5:00PM -7:00PM at Norman F. Chance Family Funeral Home, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Online condolences and words of comfort maybe offered to the family at www.chancefuneralhome.com
