Walter Elmo Boles

Walter E. Boles, 86 of Indianapolis passed away early in the morning on December 22, 2023, at Community Hospital South surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born April 24, 1937, in Celina, Tennessee to the late Truman and Anna Mae (Hollars) Boles. Walter had been employed for many years by the University of Indianapolis.  He enjoyed collecting knives, wristwatches and loved country music especially Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, Jr. Walter was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and especially Peyton Manning. He so loved his dog "Bobo". On November 23, 1973, Walter was joined into the union of marriage to the former Linda Fay Rich in Celina, Tennessee. They enjoyed a wonderful and full life together; above all they were each other’s best friend.

Walter is survived by his loving wife Linda Boles, children William Smith (Mary), and Jennifer Riddle (Chuck), grandchildren, Stephanie Smith and Trace Riddle.

Funeral Service for Walter will be 2:00p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana with calling from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Leslie Stinson will conduct the funeral service.  Interment will follow at Round Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
